Filming a live event is a one take job on a night that does not stop for you. The planning is most of the work: where the cameras go, how they get power, where the audio comes from, and what happens if the thing you are pointed at moves.
We run multiple angles where the event warrants it, so a talk or a performance can be cut rather than sat through from one fixed position. Sound comes off the desk wherever there is one, with a backup recorder running independently, because a beautiful picture of a speaker you cannot hear is not usable.
What you get depends on what the film is for. A highlight cut for marketing the next one. A full record of a talk or a set for the people who could not be there. A short vertical piece for social. Most clients want a highlight film and a full recording, and we plan the shoot so both come out of the same night.
