Batavia grew up around quarries and windmill manufacturing, and that history is still visible in the limestone buildings downtown and the actual windmills scattered through town, which is why locals still call it the Windmill City. The Riverwalk along the Fox River is where a lot of engagement sessions end up, partly because it's flat, walkable, and lined with trees that turn color early in the fall.
Fermilab sits just outside town and brings a different kind of client, researchers and staff who need clean commercial headshots or video for presentations, work that looks nothing like a wedding gallery but still has to be done right.
Batavia High School's graduation season keeps senior photography busy through spring, and Water Street Studios downtown is a good sign of how many working artists already call this town home, which raises the bar for anyone shooting here.
